Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the Yaani platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Yaani platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Yaani. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Yaani is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Rider Terms

As a rider, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate pickup and drop-off information
  • Treat drivers with respect and courtesy
  • Pay all applicable fares and fees
  • Not engage in any illegal activity during a trip
  • Not request rides for purposes other than personal transportation

5. Driver Terms

As a driver, you agree to:

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance at all times
  • Keep your vehicle clean, safe, and roadworthy
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws
  • Treat riders with respect and professionalism
  • Not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Complete all accepted trips unless there is a safety concern

6. Payments and Fees

Fares are calculated based on distance, time, and demand. All fares are displayed before you confirm a booking. Yaani charges a service fee on each transaction. Payments are processed securely through our payment partners. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

7. Cancellations

Riders may cancel a trip before the driver arrives. Cancellation fees may apply if a driver has already been dispatched. Drivers may cancel trips in exceptional circumstances. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Provide false information or impersonate others
  • Attempt to manipulate ratings or reviews
  • Use the platform to solicit personal contact information from other users

9. Limitation of Liability

Yaani acts as a technology platform connecting riders and drivers. We are not responsible for the actions of drivers or riders. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific trip in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or any conduct that we determine to be harmful to the platform or its users.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Nairobi, Kenya.
